EYP is partnering with the University at Albany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering and Alteris Renewables on a $225,000 solar demonstration initiative that will evaluate and compare state-of-the-art, thin film-based solar PV technologies. Data gathered from the research installations, including one atop CNSE's NanoFab East, will help provide designers and architects with critical feedback to drive the development of nanotechnology-enabled green energy technologies. The installation also serves as a living laboratory that trains CNSE students in research and technology transfer to industry. The public-private parternship received the first grant to be awarded in eastern New York as part of National Grid's Renewable Energy and Economic Development Program.
