Creating a welcoming campus center to better support current student life programs, EYP designed renovations to this National Register of Historic Places structure on VCU’s Medical College of Virginia campus. The restoration involved reconfiguration of original spaces, as well as weaving complex new engineering systems into the historic structure. EYP’s renovation and adaptive reuse design also provides a student lounge, learning center, study rooms, recreation area, and food services, along with offices for student affairs and government. The renovations restored the building’s beauty and functionality, reestablishing it as a vital center for student life serving this specialized campus.
