To accommodate a broader range of materials, users, and programs, EYP worked with the QCC to create a technological gateway to learning that functions as a learning commons for the predominantly commuter community. The design is anchored by a beacon-like tower which houses the campus’s main student lounge, gallery, and study spaces behind an aesthetically pleasing transparent façade. A tutorial center and cyber café encourage students to linger in the interactive learning environment, making it a true campus destination. The facility establishes a new campus quadrangle that is consonant with the existing landscape.
