EYP was responsible for the rehabilitation and restoration of the 150,000-square-foot complex, modernizing student life spaces to support the University's new four-year residential college plan. Both Hamilton and Holder are Collegiate Gothic residence halls, and Madison Hall houses Collegiate Gothic dining halls, a library, a theater, and several historic student halls. Work included structural repairs to the 145-foot load-bearing, stone-masonry Holder Tower, a campus landmark, and the complete restoration of exteriors. New mechanical, electrical, access, safety, and data systems were threaded through the existing fabric. Our design more strongly unites the complex to foster a sense of community among classes.
