John Tobin has more than 20 years of design, practice, and technical expertise in architecture. He is responsible for advancing the technical quality of EYP’s work and spearheading the integration of architectural and engineering design.
John’s particular expertise is in using and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) across all architecture and engineering disciplines. He has developed BIM models for more than 40 projects, including the University of Michigan North Quad, James Hall at the University of New Hampshire, and Bowie State University’s Fine and Performing Arts Center.
John has taught architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a widely published author and popular speaker who has helped position EYP as a leader in adopting Integrated Project Delivery with BIM. He collaborated with John Pocorobba on “Solving the Puzzle: BIM and Your Business Strategy” for Build Boston and the 2008 AEC Conference. His articles,“Proto-Building: To BIM is to Build” and “Atomic BIM,” are well known to readers of the AECbytes blog.
