EYP Architect David Foxe presented, "Structural Stewardship: Shaping and Shopping" at the recent Engineering Sustainability Conference in Pittsburgh, PA. His discussion explored the extensive potential for improvement in decreasing the footprint of materials included within the physical loadbearing structure of buildings and infrastructure. Additionally, Foxe shared several examples, as well as work, research, and educational strategies, including built applications around the world and relationships to existing built designs, including the funicular hanging roof of the Lawrence Center where the conference was held.
