Metropolis Magazine's recent article "Overdue," featured an interview with EYP Associate Jon Buono, LEED AP. The article discussed the continued use of Marcel Breuer's Atlanta Public Library (the architect's last realized project), specifically, the City Commissioners' recent vote to construct a new central library, despite a previous facility master plan for rehabilitating the existing building. Buono highlighted the need to bolster the preservation argument with project-specific economic and environmental data. On a separate note, DOCOMOMO US' Board of Directors, on which Buono has served since 2005 and currently chairs the US Register Committee, recently received a prestigious AIA 2009 Collaborative Achievement Award.
