This master plan addressed the major challenges of future campus development in an urban location, taking into consideration the campus’ connection to the city; its relationship with the surrounding community; and its association with the natural environment. We helped the client envision the physical changes necessary to align the campus infrastructure with its academic and community goals, generating campus zoning goals. In addition, we implemented the plan’s first phase by programming, planning, and designing the university’s first LEED facility, a 35,000 square foot Community Education Center with a 1,200-car parking garage. Features include geothermal heating and cooling, gray water system, and photovoltaic panels.
